Everyone knew.  The mountain was sacred.  Domain of the gods.  Trespassing was disrespecting them.
For Nguana that just increased the challenge.  Race to the summit.  Prove it could be done.  Gods held no fear for him.


He’d not returned.  Days later Korak knew what to do.  His friend was injured maybe.  He had to help.

Not once had Korak imagined the gods had appointed guardians.  Watching over their rights.
Not for one minute had he imagined his friend taken captive.
It never occurred to Korak he could fall into the guardians’ hands.  Punished for disrespecting the gods.
